Your imagination plays a critical role in determining your reaction when trouble comes. Paul says this, “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” (NIV, Philippians 4:8) Jesus said this “22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!” (NIV, Matthew 6:22-23) The Living Bible puts it this way “If your eye is pure, there will be sunshine in your soul. 23 But if your eye is clouded with evil thoughts and desires, you are in deep spiritual darkness. And oh, how deep that darkness can be!”

It is not wise or beneficial for anyone to clutter their mind with an imagination consumed with worldliness. Entertainment that focuses on delivering messages of fantasy, horror, lust, greed, corruption, suspense and drama, is the artwork of the world. Once this information is planted in your imagination it works it way into your entire body. You will respond and react according to what fills your heart and soul. Fill it with love, humility, service, and truth.
